The Belozersk Regional Museum of Local Lore is a complex of modern expositions reflecting the history of Belozeriye which is 11 centuries old.

For 45 years, we have been carefully preserving the history of the town and exploring the main changes in its urban and cultural life. We open exhibitions, publish books, make lectures, arrange tours, conferences and other events which key topic is always the history of the ancient town of the Russian North.

The unique collection of the museum which is entirely associated with the Belozersk region is replenished with new exhibits due to participation of the townspeople every year. Nowadays, our funds contain more than 25,000 objects, including a large collection of arts and crafts, an interesting art collection, including works of authors of the second half of the 20th century (Vladimir Korbakov, Alexander Panteleev, Vladimir Vetrogonsky, E. Sokolov), as well as personal archives of poets Sergey Orlov, Sergey Vikulov, Leonid Belyaev.
