Epic Town Belozersk

Belozersk is one of the most ancient towns in Russia. Its first reference in the Chronicles dates back to the year of 862 (Beloozero). It is not just the first town in the Vologda region but also the outpost that played a significant role in expanding northern periphery of our country, one of the oldest centers spreading nationhood, Christianity and culture in the Russian North. The earthen walls have been preserved here being a unique defensive structure of the 15th century.

Program
Day 1 

Meeting at the railway station. Hotel accommodation. Breakfast. Going to Belozersk (215 km). Information sharing on the way. From the Top of Belozersk Earthen Walls sightseeing tour: ancient past of Belozersk in legends and stories, earthen walls, magnificent view of White Lake, Belozersk Kremlin, monument to Belozersk dukes, heroes of the Battle of Kulikovo. Visiting the All-Merciful Savior's Cathedral and its bell tower (or the Savior's Transfiguration Cathedral). Lunch. Sergey Orlov Memorial House (or Museum of Local Lore), Belozersk Fairy Tale interactive program (or In the Footsteps of Red Arrowwood Movie program).
Going back to Vologda. 12 hour bus. 

2 Day

Breakfast. Chronicles of Ancient Vologda bus sightseeing tour: Vologda Kremlin architectural complex, historical center, Peter the Great Memorial House, Museum of Lace which is unique in Russia, functioning Monastery of the Savior and St. Dmitry Prilutsky. Lunch. 5 hour bus. Free time. Departure.
