KIKINA

Anna Yurievna

131st cosmonaut of our country, 592nd cosmonaut of the World

The first of the Russian test cosmonauts to make a space flight on an American Crew Dragon ship

Anna Kikina was born on August 27, 1984 in Novosibirsk. Graduated from Novosibirsk Healthy lifestyle School No. 29 in a special class "Young Lifeguard".

In 2005, after completing courses at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, she received a lifeguard certificate and worked as an instructor to teach the population the basics of first aid. A year later, she graduated with honors from the Novosibirsk State Academy of Water Transport and became a hydraulic engineer with a degree in Emergency Protection at Water Management Facilities, and in 2008 she also defended a diploma in Economics and Management at an enterprise (transport) with the qualification of economist-manager.

For some time she worked as a swimming instructor, a guide in Altai, trained rescue cadets, and even was a radio presenter and program director (radio administrator) at Radio Siberia Altai LLC (Gorno-Altaysk, Altai Republic).

Anna Kikina in 2010 became the "Master of Sports of Russia" in polyathlon and rafting. She was a member of the Gorno-Altai rowing slalom team and the Russian rafting team, and in 2011 became the silver medalist of the "Ski Track of Russia". Having such a broad physical and technical training, Anna Yurievna decided in 2012 to try herself as an astronaut and submitted documents during the First open recruitment to the cosmonaut squad of the State Corporation "Roscosmos". At the end of the year, the only one of the women passed all the stages of selection and was enrolled in the detachment as a candidate for test cosmonauts. In December 2014, she received a long-awaited diploma with the qualification of "test cosmonaut".

Since September 2016, after the election of cosmonaut E.O. Serova as a State Duma deputy, Anna Kikina has been the only woman in the Roscosmos cosmonaut squad.

Having received the coveted qualification, Anna continued her training. And in November 2017, as a flight engineer, she took part in the international isolation experiment "SIRIUS", simulating a flight to the Moon, held at the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences. During the experiment, she participated in the control of the lunar rover using a virtual reality helmet.

Interesting fact: in 2021, Anna Kikina became the prototype of the world-famous collectible doll "Barbie" from the series "Inspiring Women" and in the same year became the ambassador of the clothing collection for Russian athletes at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

She made a space flight from October 5, 2022 to March 12, 2023, starting and landing as part of the fifth crew on the American Crew Dragon spacecraft. She successfully worked on the International Space Station under the Russian ISS-68 scientific program together with Russian cosmonauts Sergei Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin. The duration of the space flight was 157 days, 10 hours, 1 minute and 3 seconds.

Anna Kikina is married to Alexander Serdyuk, a coach and teacher of physical training at the Gagarin Central Training Center.
