We study the history of our country via the badge collection

It’s easy to study the history of our country thanks to the collection of badges and commemorative medals of our museum. The collection includes pioneer and Komsomol, sports and professional badges, badges with emblems of cities and museums and those made for great anniversaries and significant events.
The largest collection of such badges belonged to Petr Georgievsky. He was an honorary resident of the town of Belozersk, Hero of Socialist Labor, one of the organizers of the Komsomol in our region, builder of factories and canals. One can list his titles and positions for a long time.
After his death, a few documents about official activities, rare photographs, interesting personal items that belonged to Petr Georgievsky were handed over to the Belozersk Museum. Commemorative signs, medals, plaques in the amount of 101 items were among them. They immediately took their rightful place in the museum. Several items are now on display at the Museum of the History of the Region in the section dedicated to famous people of Belozeriye.
All Petr Georgievsky’s signs are divided into several topics: the Komsomol, construction sites, significant dates and events.

Petr Georgievsky was directly involved in the construction of the Moscow Canal, formerly called the Moscow-Volga. He was also the leader of other construction projects. For many years, he was Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Medium Machine Engineering. In 1980, our countryman was awarded a diploma and a badge "For active participation in the construction of Olympic facilities".
Several plaques and signs are dedicated to prominent Soviet scientists Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, Igor Kurchatov. Petr Georgievsky also had badges with familiar names such as Belozersk, Cherepovets.
